To maintain and develop the prosperity, wellbeing and liveability of cities and urban settlements, we must ensure the needs of current and future generations can be met.   This necessaitates economic growth, social and governance approaches to urban development to be well-planned and coordinated, sustainable, inclusive and environmentally responsible.    This calls for the formulation of sound urban policies, strategies and development practices that governments, businesses and communities can relate to and embrace, individually and collectively. Policy and strategies to support sustainable urban development are needed at global, geographic region, national, metropolitan and local area levels.  They must be integrated, vertically, horizontally, and seamlessly, if urban development is to become more sustainable.  Team members and associates at Urban Frontiers have engaged in a wide range of studies in the following areas.
